07.07.07: 7th July 2007 was a remarkable day for me. I had received two appointment letters ( Sikhya sahayak for elementary teacher and contractual science teacher for secondary school) at a time. I was working as a Headmaster at Netaji Subhash Bose High School, Bhurukudu at that time. Also, the school was on the eligible list for block grants. Immense tension about selecting a better one among these three. You may have also faced such a kind of confusing moment in your life. Despite such big confusion about my future concern, I took my decision to join as a contract TGT at P.S. High school, Durgi, and started my journey by joining on 9th July 2007 there.
At that time, the school was full-fledged, all the members of the school staff were Honest, Genius, and very cooperative. That’s my goodness, I started my profession not only by teaching students there but also by learning the rich traditions and cultures of the school and the locality. Local youth made friends with me very soon.
They also invited me to play with them in village games and sports. They selected me for their village cricket team. They have a lot of trust in my playing skill. So they gave me several opportunities to participate in their tournaments. Those memorable moments can never come back for me.
Old teachers got retired, and some teachers transferred, Finally I bounded to take the charge of the school on 1st March 2013. Since then I managed to run the school with both curricular and co-curricular activities in keeping the view to the all-round development of my students with the utmost cooperation of my school staff. Several activities like Sports, Games, Science exhibitions, Science seminars, drama, essays, songs, and debate computations, were placed in each academic calendar of the school.
Simultaneously PTA and SMDC and MO SCHOOL meetings were conducted at regular intervals for the infrastructure development of the school. The people of our locality were very cooperative. As their wish, the school has got a pleasant and beautiful look today.
In keeping the view to my responsibility towards my family (to look after my old parents), I decided to transfer near to my village. And applied in the online transfer portal of the S&ME Dept. Government of Odisha on July 2021 on the personal ground criteria. And transferred to join at Govt. High School, Jaltar on 03.12.2021.
Near about fourteen and half years Journey, i.e from 09th July 2007 to 2nd December 2021 at P.S. High School, Durgi remains unforgettable forever. Few among those were shared here (CLICK ME) in this Gallery.
